Aloha, Everyone!  It’s Friday again!  Time for Aloha Friday with Kailani at An Island Life.  If you would like to participate with Kailani, join Mr. Linky at An Island Life…click here.

Today’s Question:

What is your favorite way to prepare ground beef (called “beef mince” here in Australia)?

My Answer:

Tacos.  Pasta.  Hamburgers.  Sloppy Joes.

I’m looking for new meal ideas for ground beef.

Feel free to share a favorite recipe!

  1. I’m vegetarian!! I never prepare beef, having said that I’m not a very good cook so whatever I prepare needs to be quite straightforward to make, and it can’t take too long either because I either get too bored or too hungry!

  2. Giniling is a Filipino dish that my husband really likes. I cook it with potato and carrots. My husband eats it with ketchup.

  3. I like also like tacos. My hubby sometimes uses it in a soup he makes with diced potatoes and carrots. It’s good on spaghetti too.

  4. I like your list! I’ll add meatloaf to the list. My husband loves meatloaf so much it was what I made for his birthday. Happy Aloha Friday! Thanks for stopping by my blog. (My husband also loves Australia)

  5. I like to make Enchilada Casserole and Taco Casserole.

The Taco Casserole recipe is here: http://tdlough.blogspot.com/2008/03/yeah-i-knowlong-time-no-see-stranger.html

The Enchilada Casserole recipe is her:http://tdlough.blogspot.com/2008/03/yeah-i-knowlong-time-no-see-stranger.html

I hope you can use them and enjoy. They are favorites around our house.

  6. Sorry, somehow I got the link wrong on the second one. Here it is:

  7. So that’s where it came from — in Japan where I previously lived, it is called ‘minced beef’ too.

  8. For ground beef, I can suggest Keema curry (an Indian dish). It’s delish!

  9. tacos, meatloaf, hamburger casserole, grilled

  10. Have you made a Shephard’s pie with veggies and mashed potatoes baked on top. Mmmmmmm….delicious.

  11. I have a great meatloaf recipe. It’s not your regular meatloaf. I’ll look it up and email it to you. Also how about Gouhlash? I’ve heard Grandma Lancanster made a good one.

  12. Probably Baked Spaghetti. It’s a family favorite.

  13. This is my first time looking at your blog and I love it!

One of our Fav dishes is Taco Salad.

    1lb Ground Beef
    1 can Ranch style beans
    1 can corn
    Lettuce
    Tomato
    Onions
    1can diced Olives
    cheese
    Tortilla Chips

Cook beef until done. Drain Juice if any. Add can of Beans, Corn, Olives. Cook until warm. Serve with Chips, lettuce, tomato, cheese. I like salsa with mine and I like to add taco seasoning to the beef. Super good. My kids love it!

  14. Probably would have to say either hamburgers or sloppy joes. Or in spaghetti sauce. :)

  15. Beef Egg Rolls -

Fry beef with fresh onion and garlic.
Roll beef with shredded cabbage, precooked rice, shredded carrots and fry.

Nice change and treat for us here!

  16. Gotta be tacos!! I love tacos. heehee
