My Walk Monday - Walking By Faith

I’ve been reading through Matthew. I’ve just finished reading chapter nine. Chapters 8 and 9 have been on my mind a lot lately. So much happens in these two chapters.  Have a look with me:

Chapter 8

- Jesus heals a leper.

- Jesus heals the centurion’s servant.

- Jesus heals Peter’s wife’s mother.  [Matthew 8:14-15]

- Jesus healed many possessed with devils.  [Matthew 8:16-17]

- Jesus heals many more sick.  [Matthew 8:16-17]

- Jesus calms the storm.  [Matthew 8:24-27]

- Jesus heals two men possessed with devils, casting the devils into a herd of swine.  [Matthew 8:28-32]

Chapter 9

- Jesus heals a man sick of the palsy.  [Matthew 9:1-7]

- Jesus calls Matthew a tax collector, saying, “Follow Me.”  [Matthew 9:9]

- Jesus eats with publicans and sinners.  [Matthew 9:10-13]

- Jesus heals a certain ruler’s daughter.

- Jesus heals woman with issue of blood.

- Jesus heals two blind men.

- Jesus heals a dumb man possessed with a devil.  [Matthew 9:32-33]

- Jesus has compassion on the multitude.  [Matthew 9:36-38]

By faith the leper received healing

“…Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.”  - the leper [Matthew 8:2]

“And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean.  And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.”  [Matthew 8:3]

By faith the centurion’s servant was healed

“The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof:  but speak the words and my servant shall be healed.” - the centurion [Matthew 8:8]

“When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no not in Israel…And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee.  And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.”  [Matthew 8:10,13]

By faith a certain ruler’s daughter was healed

“…My daughter is dead:  but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.”  - a certain ruler [Matthew 9:18]

“…he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.”  [Matthew 9:25]

By faith a woman with an issue of blood received healing

“For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.”  - woman with issue of blood [Matthew 9:21]

“But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole.  And the woman was made whole that hour.”  [Matthew 9:22]

By faith two blind men received their sight

“…Thou Son of David, have mercy on us.”  - two blind men [Matthew 9:27]

“…and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this?…” [Matthew 9:28]

“…Yea, Lord.”  - two blind men [Matthew 9:28]

“Then Jesus touched their eyes, saying, According to you faith be it unto you.  And their eyes were opened…”  [Matthew 9:29-30]

Oh, that my faith would grow!

My Walk Monday - Note To Self

“But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do:  for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.  Be not ye therefore like unto them:  for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.”

Matthew 6: 7-8

Two things:

1.  My Heavenly Father knows my needs before I ask Him.

2.  He wants me to ask Him.

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:  For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.”

Matthew 7: 7-8

A Mother’s Heart Knows Contest

This is a beautiful book!   The pictures are delightful!  A wonderful gift for Mother this Mother’s Day!

About the book: What better way to tell Mom how much you appreciate her on Mother’s Day than with this lovely reminder of thoughts about the loving, selfless attitudes that fill a mother’s heart?

The text and original four-color illustrations will be a beautiful and touching reminder to Mom that her love is never forgotten. The text is a reminder of those things that only a mother’s heart knows, with some special emphasis on a Christian mother. Appropriate Scripture verses will be incorporated into the design element.

All royalty proceeds from this book go to WINGS (Women In Need Growing Stronger) and a student missionary scholarship fund.  WINGS is a non-profit organization that provides a domestic violence shelter for women and their children in addition to transitional housing and programs.

Margaret lives with her husband and two daughters in a Chicago suburb. Her book, A Mother’s Heart Knows was published by Thomas Nelson in 2005. Go Back and Be Happy, a co-authored book will be published by Lion Hudson in July 2008. Margaret has been featured on Greg Wheatly’s “Prime Time America,” TLN’s “Aspiring Women,” and LeSea’s “The Harvest Show.” Margaret writes freelance articles for The Daily Herald, the largest suburban Chicago newspaper. Notable interviews include Wolfgang Puck, Thomas Kinkade, Susan Branch and Dr. John Gottman. Margaret also wrote a feature article for crosswalk.com. With a master’s degree in international business, Margaret became a vice president in the corporate finance division of a New York City bank and worked there from 1986-1993. Supporting charitable causes is important to Margaret. For the past five years, she has served on the board of directors for WINGS, an organization that helps abused women and their children get a new start in life.

My Walk Monday - On My Knees

My Walk Monday

The theme of today seems to be kneeling to pray. I have received multiple emails referencing getting on your knees to pray…today. And, many of the blogs I have visited today posted about kneeling to pray. Yes, Lord, I hear you. I understand.

How often do I kneel to pray?  Um…I prefer not to answer that question.

Does anyone kneel to pray anymore?  Is kneeling to pray more of a heart attitude?  Or does one physically need to kneel to pray?

What brings me to my knees in prayer?  Crisis.  Grief.  Heavy burderns.  Things too painful to post candidly in a public blog.

Aloha Friday - Hamburger, Help Me!

Aloha, Everyone!  It’s Friday again!  Time for Aloha Friday with Kailani at An Island Life.  If you would like to participate with Kailani, join Mr. Linky at An Island Life…click here.

Today’s Question:

What is your favorite way to prepare ground beef (called “beef mince” here in Australia)?

My Answer:

Tacos.  Pasta.  Hamburgers.  Sloppy Joes.

I’m looking for new meal ideas for ground beef.

Feel free to share a favorite recipe!
