Giving out the instructions. From here the racers had to find their cars . . .
Yes, we had “valet” parking!
Here are a few of the road blocks/detours:
Make your own tortillas…one team mate makes them, the other eats them.
Speaking of eating . . . we even had a “fast forward” . . . cockroaches are considered a delicacy in some countries. I purchased these from an Asian store in Orlando…they had to be kept in the freezer until ready to serve.
Of course, this was only first come first serve!
Sorry, this picture is so small. This is a Philippino dance…anyone know the name of it?
Another tiny photo…here we have archery with a tribal bow!
Looking for the next clue in mounds of shredded paper.
Yes, this was my classroom!
The winning team!
A wonderful time was had by all!

Oh, this looks like it was so much fun — I really got a kick out of the valet parking. Hope you can do another one soon.
How neat. Sounds like it was a lot of fun. Our church supports New Tribe Missions. We have a family that grew up in our church that were missionaries for many years, and are now working at the New Tribes school.
The Filipino dance is called ‘TINIKLING’. Since the pic was so small, i couldn’t be so sure. Is it the one that uses bamboo?
I would like to plan something like this for our small groups at church. Do you have anything else that you could E-mail me that might help.
Thanks! I love the race too.
Linda
I have a group I would love to plan something like this for – it looks like great fun. I’ve never seen the show The Amazing Race so I’m unsure of how the challenges, road blocks and detours work. Would you be able to send me some info on it or maybe the outline for your event? Thank you in advance!
