I’m A Blogger…What Can I do?

missionsmonthbutton1.jpg
So, you’re a blogger, eh?  Great!  What can you do?  Plenty!  Here are just a few ideas:
- Offer to help a missionary set up a blog for their ministry.
- Offer to create graphics like buttons or banners for missionaries.
- Blog about the missionaries you know on your blog.
- Host your own missions month.
- Organize a missions carnival.
- Post needs of missionaries you know.
- Post prayer requests and how God has answered them.
Have more ideas?  Leave them in a comment here!  :)

  1. What a wonderful idea! A very good friend started out as a missionary volunteer and now is Director of the missionary in Los Angeles, I hope soon to join that family.

Thanks for stopping by my blog, and happy partying!

  2. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Which field were you a teacher on? If you and your husband ever want to return to the field in that capacity, Grace International School in Chiang Mai is always in need of teachers. :)
Not sure where I am supposed to write about our ministry, I am assuming just right here in the comments. :) (you can delete this part before posting if you want! :) )

Hello! My name is Tina and my family and I are in our first term as missionaries in Thailand.
Our ministry in Thailand is currently language study. We are a bit over halfway through our national language study and looking at which location we will be moving to when we are done. We will be joining a church planting team either in the North near the Laos/Burma border, or in the NE, again near the Laos border. Our mission group works primarily with smaller people groups, ones that still communicate mostly in their own language group, and not the national language. These tribal groups are often not reached by the national church and often have no
    Scriptures in their language.
We desire to see not only new Christians born into the body of Christ, but a Church to emerge that grows into a self-functioning fellowship of believers that do not need the presence of a missionary to continue.
    This is a large task.
Think about our own churches in America, Australia, or where ever you are at. When it is time for a new pastor due to whatever reason, how often does the body of the church step in to fill that role? We usually adverstise for a new leader, one that will come in and assume the role of preacher, teacher, shepherd.
What does a church do if there is no ‘pool’ of pastors to choose from?
They need to do as Paul instructed Timothy, to choose from among the body, those who meet the qualifications of leaders, and bring them up into those roles.
If you have a heart for those who have never heard, if you want to be a part of God’s desire to see all men saved from the penalty of sin, we would invite you pray for not only our family, but missionaries all around the world, and even in your own backyard. We may be living in a different country, doing what people consider to be ‘the work’, but in reality, the work is prayer!
Prayer accomplishes more than we can imagine, and without it, we are so much less effective than we think.
Thank you for your interest in our ministry and may you be blessed as you see the ways the LORD is on the move around the world.

  4. I am stopping over on the Ulitmate Blog Party train.

Nice to meet you! I too have a heart for missionaries. Your suggestions are great as long as it is okay for them to advertise themselves as missionaries in their country. Sometimes we have to be discreet.

Our life group adopted a missionary couple and we keep up with them and ask for prayer updates. Also care packages are always welcomed. They like to know that they aren’t forgotten!
